What Just Happened?

Did I just move to the midwest?

I think I did.
Here I am at the very beginning of three years in Bloomington, Indiana at IU’s fiction MFA. Wish me luck!

More randomly, very awesomely, and thanks to an amazing cohort of generous folks, I am also at the cusp of a trip to Istanbul to speak at the Writers and Literary Translators International Congress (thanks for the coverage over at Global Shift, Lauren!) on behalf of exiled Chinese dissident writer Tumen Ulzii Bayunmend.

Off I go! Thank you again to the Board President of Copper Canyon Press, Joseph Roberts, for throwing my fundraiser going-away bash, and to all of you, for giving a damn.

If someone were to tell me a year ago that Indiana and Istanbul were in my future, I’d have been like, “you’re smoking dreams, man!”

Wow. Thank you, so very much.

With a ridiculous amount of gratitude,

Ming

I can do many things dear Ming. Encourage, open doors, occasionally inspire -but you, my friend, must summon the courage to go forth, see with honest eyes, open mind & heart …and let your voice be heard.

    thank you for your service!
